The Trumbull County Historical Society (TCHS) is seeking interns to join its 2018 summer internship program. Internships are open to undergraduate and graduate students in History, Museum Studies, or a related field and are available for the following positions:
- Collections & Exhibits Internship
- Education Internship
Each position requires a minimum of 200 hours and is accompanied by a $1,000 internship stipend, with 50% being paid before the internship and 50% after. All interns will be supervised by the TCHS Director, who will provide the intern will all necessary training and materials.

Collections & Exhibits
TCHS seeks a Collections & Exhibits Intern to assist in developing exhibits within the John Stark Edwards House while revitalizing period rooms in this 1807 home. This project will include object research, label writing, updating our PastPerfect collections management software, writing historic significance and condition reports, photographing and rehousing objects, as well as assisting with developing future exhibit plans. This internship will also give students the opportunity to write content for our website. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of museum collections management practices and will be willing to work independently or as a team.
An education intern at TCHS will be responsible for assisting with the implementation of a variety of programming for adults and children. Primarily, the education intern with assist in the development of in-school children’s programs, reevaluate and provide tours of the Edwards House, as well as work with the Director on updates to the docent manual and building the education teaching collection. Additionally, the intern should be willing to work at TCHS outreach booths and advocate for our organization’s mission and programs.
